Title: 280SE Dash Speaker
Post by: Luke1 on 27 February 2010, 10:11 PM
I am replacing my original dash that has the speaker covers on the top with a dash that has the speaker covers under the dash, would there be a problem with this?

The other question is this: is there a way to create new bolt holes for the bolts that mount the back of the front seats to the floor?  I had some repair work done to my driver side floor, and the bolt holes were removed with the repair.

Speaker locations won't be a problem, as the cabling is pretty flexible under there.

You might have to drill new holes and fit new speed nuts/captive nuts.

Where can I purchase these nuts?  Are they the same same size as the original bolts for the seats?  Also, what size are the bolts or screws?

Thanks

The bolts have a 10mm flange head, with a 8mm shank from memory. You should be able to get generic speed nuts from your choice of auto parts store. I'm not sure about thread pitch, though that shouldn't matter if you're replacing the lot.

8.5mm would be a safe option.
