6.9 Oil sump volume?

While changing my oil I made a dumb mistake.  I drained the reservoir tank and changed filter but went brain dead and completely forgot to drain the sump.  Of course I remembered immediately after putting in the new oil.  Anybody know how much is typically there in the sump?  Engine was warm at the time and had been recently run.  Refilling seemed to take 9 or 10 quarts, maybe more, not sure exactly cause a couple jugs of oil had been partially used.

My assumption is that this isn't the end of the world.  The old oil had about 6ooo miles so I figure that the mixture of old/new is like having oil with, say, a couple thousand miles on it.  I'll just change it sooner that I normally would.  So, is this reasoning sound?  FWIW, I'll be driving car cross country again in July. ;D  Any comments?  Thanks and cheers,
-Dave

I wouldn't worry about it.  Close enough. Like you said just change a wee earlier next time.
