Anyone know a good HPF valve rebuilder on this side of the pond? The rear one seems to be leaking / weeping from the shaft.

I sell the strut seal kits. Instructions included. Requires moderate to advanced mechanical skills.

Also TCJ in germany rebuilds them i think. He has reproduced the front cups and bumbstops.

I don't do rebuilds anymore.  In EU not sure really, I think tcj works with Martin at 600 air suspension.

Martin @ 600 Air Suspensions is who I would recommend. He has a very high standard of work, parts come back re-sealed, re-plated, re-bored and machined, tested and fully working - with new boots and clips.

I am about to send him a box with two struts, two shabby valves, some hoses and other HPF parts for refurbishment. There are apparently people in Australia, but the "rebuilt" front struts on my car suggest that there is someone doing this work poorly - with damage to the strut housing included in the scope of works, and no re-plating of the exposed components which means they are insufficiently protected against corrosion.

If there are other people doing this work to a good standard, it would be nice to have some kind of directory so members of this forum (and others) can find the right places without too much "trial and error".

Daniel, do you have a source for the rubber boot on the valves. Mine have already cracked after rebuild a few years ago.

right, Martin in the US rebuils HPF Struts and HPF valves and also sells the valve boots (in original appearance as it should be) - all the same for me in Europe/Germany, we work together indeed. We use the same parts and shared knowledge which leads to similar results...

Thomas (above) is in Germany... great to know that you have this same level of service over in Germany. It is important for the ongoing maintenance of these wonderful vehicles.

I rebuilt my suspension was rebuilt using components and advice from all the above posters.  I endorse them all.  The results were outstanding.  The ride and handling are great.  When starting the car the pressure light doesn't even come on most of the time, and when it does it's just a flicker.  No dripping, no leaks, no weeping.  The car has been parked in an unheated garage since November.  I can't see that it has dropped at all (though I'm sure it has, at least a little).  This is an amazing result IMO.   ;D  ;D  ;D   Cheers,

ps - One of the eternal questions here  (I think) and the old M100 group is to hone or not to hone.  My struts were evaluated by a local hydraulic shop and their advice was "es, lightly hone with small ball hone" so I did.  These service all the snow cats used by the Utah ski areas as well as heavy mining equipment etc.  That's a LOT of hydraulic stuff concentrated in a small area, so I think their assessment is probably sound.
