Ordered carpet set and other parts from KHM today.  Great time to buy as exchange rate is good.

Epoxy painted inside of rocker and inner wheel arch.

Upon cutting out the rear panel I discovered that earlier than VIN #Not a valid attachment ID.Not a valid attachment ID.20220827_080844 (2).jpg   1951 the heavy plate below the lock was not present on #0162 chassis parts car. I'll probably cut it out as it has become a rust trap.

Getting closer now. Ready to final fit the outer rocker for welding, just a small tweak needed.

Lest we get distracted from the detail of the thread - obviously excellent work being done which I hope to emulate  on my project.

I have completed the rocker repairs including all the metal work, schutz and topcoat paint.  Both rear wheel wheels are also complete with the same steps applied.  Feels good to see something all the way back together! I still have to spray more schutz under back of car, take a big pile of parts to get yellow zinc plated including all the brake, hydro and fuel lines that go up there. The rear axle assemble has been moved out of it's storage location and requires some adjustment of the side caps.

The rockers were painted with db7167 which has a small gray cast to it.

Maybe you addressed this elsewhere but how did you like their carpet set and parts? Thankfully I've found two sets of good rear seat pads so I don't need to order those from them anymore, but I'm considering getting their carpet set and velour seat skins in the future.

I haven't done anything with the carpet, but it looked very nice. Velours material is getting hard to get or nla for the time. If they have the color you want buy it immediately.
Go to http://www.steenbuck-web.de/formular.htm and request any color not avail as they are looking for a supplier. The more that ask we may get help.

Finished up shutz on bottom of car. Started putting a few item back on that go above rear axle. Quickly found 3 or 4 boxes with parts but the one with all the yellow zinc parts escaped. After multiple attempts looking myself I asked my daughter to look and as usual found it in 5 minutes! Bit of a jigsaw puzzle remembering where parts removed 4 or 5 years ago belong.

Finally wrapping up the huge exercise of restoring the bottom of the car. Hours of scrubbing the black tar based undercoating off, then paint where needed and topped with fresh schutz. It took a few days to figure out where all the fresh replated hydro/brake/fuels lines went. Need to fine a couple of 10mm original hose clamps.

I need to next attend to my sl500 as it needs new RST hydraulic cylinders. Need to get done for summer driving.
