OK...nice one.
I just ordered a set of top gun leads.
I had a set of Bosch but the would not attach onto the plugs properly....so off they go!
Keep up the good work...hurry though...back to uni in a minute!
You should try and get it regoed to take to Uni.

Mmm I tried to get some from a 116 at the wreckers but they were original bosche ones and didnt fit :/

Haha yeah its a possibility! Though it would chew through fuel. Currently driving my straight piped subaru forester around which is a bit of fun

Lol so a few weeks ago I popped the engine in my straight piped Subaru Forester....so thats off the road while i build up the STi engine I've had in the garage for feck knows how long.

I'll be heading to my parent's place Thursday to pick up the Benz, drive it back to melbourne on an unreg permit, throw some cash at it to get the final repairs done (welding the front bar and boot rust holes) so I can get it on a club permit and have some wheels! PT suuuuuuucks.

Watch this space :P

had a bit of a false start, on the 4th I started driving the Benz up to Melbourne, but some f*ckwit forgot to check the simplest damn thing thing (wheel nuts) and I lost a rear wheel while doing 100kph, around a corner.

luckily i didnt stack, just ground to a stop, which took some meat off the rear disc lol. put the wheel back on with 3 studs from the other corners (as the original ones were too tough to find) and limped it to a mate's place. Borrowed her car too, and the following week I came back down with spare studs, whacked em on, and hauled arse up to Melbourne on Friday.

Been driving it every day since, visiting wreckers and whatnot. slowly getting used to the misadjustment in the accelerator that I can't fix, and the huge throw in the shifter, and the play in the steering, and the enormous body roll. But f*ck me it enjoys high revs hahahahaha

As I write it's currently at an exhaust place, who are getting rid of the leaky POS slip joint in front of the mid muffler. This also means if/when its club reg'd I can bolt on some side exit straight pipes muahahahaha

Does anyone know if/how to adjust the steering box to get rid of steering play? that's currently next on the list

also, a new problem that's annoying the sh*t out of me, theres a squeaking noise coming from the clutch/gearbox. it goes away when i depress the clutch pedal. Google says it's either the input shaft bearing or I also read putting grease between the slave and the clutch fork can fix the noise too.

Opinions?

I have had 2 creaky clutch pedals cured by replacing master cylinder, albeit not on a Benz.
Not quite sure why they crap out, guessing seals let go.

You didnt read what i wrote properly, hey. It's not a squeaky pedal. There is a squeak when the car is moving and in gear. It stops when I depress the pedal/disengage the clutch. Comprende?

Also, I already said the master had been replaced, and it's barely been driven in the last 3 years.

awwwwwlrighty folks, I'll be scrapping this rust bucket in a couple of days, after I remove the transmission and body kit (they're the only things worth money, to me anyway). It's been fun, it taught me a heap, even though it was probably always gonna be pile. If anyone from Vic, Australia wants either the kit, gearbox or the shell, let me know, otherwise, enjoy a couple of last pics!

tbt revving with open headers hahaha
