Nice collection! I have a bunch of w116, w126, and e28 parts I need to upload. For now, here's this part at least on Thingiverse:

This was drawn in Sketchup (quick and dirty), but I typically use Fusion 360 for anything more complicated. SolidWorks is great too, but I haven't had access to a licensed copy in several years.
I'd love to see a pic of the real McCoy if you'd post one. I've found line drawings of the w116 holder in various online parts diagrams, but couldn't locate an actual picture. Every photo seems to be taken from a few feet back with the trunk raised and the vertical portion of the lid cuts off the area I'm interested in!

The current situation:
- I do not know if the cooling system is air free or not. How to determine that?
- gurgling is heard when accelerating
- Coolant looks like new coolant
- Coolant temp is constant and ok
Will a cylinder compression test identify a blown head gasket, i.e. if the compression test is ok the head gasket is ok?

Refuses to start.
I am at a loss.
So far:
New injectors + new sleeves. No start.
Old injectors + new sleeves. No start.
Old injectors + old sleeves. Start!
New injectors + old sleeves. No start.
The new Bosch injectors are supposed to be the updated version of the originals.

Maybe the system self-bleed depends on certain valves in HVAC being open/closed? As long as my vacuum system is shot these valves might not be in the right position? The vacuum system is also on my to-do list ... later.

Last post by ptashek - 22 June 2022, 07:48 AMThere should be no ill effects of doing that. That pod is on the HVAC vacuum circuit, which is supplied from a separate reservoir under the front wing. Probably best if you disconnect and plug the vacuum line, and then fix the lever in the closed position.
As for air in the heater core - that's odd as the system should self-bleed.
Also a somewhat related tip: if your valve is leaking (as they tend to), this same heater valve from W201 (much cheaper than this one, as it's all plastic) is an almost 1:1 replacement. Just needs the tiniest of modifications to the part, but not the car. I have one on my car.
