The black (steel) bracket I was fortunate enough to grab from a 450SEL at wrecker and is the outside one with the eyelet at bottom for the screw fixing to chassis. The aluminum is off the 420 seat. My simple brain tells me that making the swap or changing the position of the bend in the 420 bracket will work. Regarding the bottom, I think there is enough material on 420 skin to have it moved onto the 6.9 spring box.

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 350SE and I'm looking at doing some restoration work before driving it to Le Mans this year.

The previous owner spent a lot on the mechanical aspects in 2022 and the car has been kept in storage for 20+ years. There are only a few imperfections on the paintwork but I have noticed a few scratches on the wheel trims. I live in the south east of England (Bucks) and was wondering if anyone knows the best way to refurb the steel wheel trims or any companies that can provide repainting services? I'd also like to get the leather interior refurbished so any recommend companies for this are also appreciated.

Nice color and great interior (except the wood).

If the car runs fine but just problem starting I would look at new injectors and possibly the trigger points.

Is it just cold starts or also warm?

Your response is pretty impressive.

Mechanicals / 1973 M/B 450se one owner

Hi guys,
My 1973 M/B 450se has been sitting for a while. It starts right up but has a dead spot throttle response between 1500 and 2500 rpm. It is a D-Jet, always been dependable, it likes to be run everyday but that's not possible for us. Does anyone have any thoughts to a fix?
