Hey guys.  If any of you are interested I've been posting youtube videos of repairing a Becker Mexico TR from the 1960's.  It'll be a multi part adventure, but hopefully informative and/or entertaining for those of you who've been in isolation.  I do not do this for a living.  It's only a hobby.  This radio belongs to a friend in California, and I'm only doing it because I, too, am needing something to keep me from going crazy.   In time more videos will be posted relating to other European table top radios, some car stuff, and anything else I think is fun to document.   Here is a link to my channel:

Did you mail the faceplate yet?

Ugh.  No, it slid under some junk on the piano (you've seen that train wreck) and I forgot about it.  I'll get it out in the next few days with an original one to go by.  Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for the kind words to both of you!  :)

Hahaha, it looks like my place but cleaner. I have lost plenty of objects under a couple of mid-1800s sideboards filled with daguerreotypes beneath WWI propaganda posters. No pianos here though.

Hi Aaron

Thanks for the information and videos you shared. I have an issue with my Becker Mexico and I hope you don't mind that I wrote it here. I took your advice and replaced all the capacitors on my amplifier and the radio. I'd say the difference in sound quality and level was very noticeable.
For those who might want to do the same job you need the following capacitors:

Amplifier: 1500μF/16V(x1), 1000μF/16V (x2), 100μF/16V (x4), total 7 capacitors

Radio (Becker Mexico Cassette Vollstereo 485):
Cassette motor board: 100μF/16V (x1), 220μF/16V (x1)
RF board: 220μF/16V Axial (x1)
Equalizer board: 100μF/16V (x1)

Total 4 capacitors. I ordered 2 more 100μF/16V just in case I need to repair the clock.
My radio has an issue that I was hoping to get fixed after replacing the capacitors. On AM/FM the radio has good reception and when I push the search bar it goes to the next station (yes, it gets stuck at the end) but the radio plays very low even at full volume. I connected my AUX adaptor to the DIN port and the sound was very weak and low. On the other hand, the cassette player works well and the sound level is good. I don't have any knowledge in audio field but I guess I might have a bad transistor. Do you have any idea what the problem is and which board is faulty? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
