What to do with cola drinks (other than wreck your innards)

Next time cola drinks are on super-special at your bottle-o or supermarket, buy in bulk and use it for what it's good for, namely:

1  To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in cola.

2  To clean corrosion from car battery terminals:
Pour a can of cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

3  To loosen a rusted bolt:
Apply a cloth soaked in cola to the rusted bolt for some time.

4  Hazy windscreen:
Cola will also clean road haze from car windscreens.

5  To remove grease from clothes:
Pour a can of cola into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run a regular cycle in the washing machine; the cola will help loosen grease stains.

I can vouch for items 2, 4, and 5, having tried them.  My overalls have been washed in cola for decades (but they haven't lasted all that well!).   ::)

Here in the States, we drop Mentos candy in and watch it spew up to 40 feet in the air.

I wonder how long the grass lived after being showered with all that cola?   :o

What about coke on car paint and that myth, what's the verdict? Does it remove it?

Re mentos + coke, watch till the end Letterman on youtube and a massive mentos/coke display out in the street. Pretty funny.

The time I tried it on my windscreen, I made sure to keep it off the paint - it's quite acidic, so I wouldn't trust it to be paint-safe for more than a few seconds.

I also used Coke on my windscreen  ;D
It's quite good on removing the leaks from trees or plants...
On the paint though I wouldn't try it eather. Neither on the chrome...  ???
Would you?

Yup - those horrible, sticky resins that nothing else other than petrol will remove.

Not on the paint, but yes on the chrome. I have a bit of rust on one of my (non-W116) bumpers, and I'm prepared to try it.

Coke uses a Flavour enhancer - which I think is Phosphoric acid - Pepsi has 331(I think) and Coke has 331 and 338 but I don't have access to the codes to see what they are.

Phosphoric acid is contained in in normal rust removers - why not use these instead and drink the Coke followed by brushing your teeth.
