Hi guys I'm starting a W114 Coupe project and was wondering if anyone knew the colour code for this blue. Many thanks
Hi Peter
This page from the Pagoda owner's group may help.

I don't know what colour that is. What I do know is that it looks great!
Thanks Gavin and yes Karman it sure does look good, I'm not yet convinced that its a Mercedes colour.
Lapis Blue?
You might be right Dan - 932 is very close. :D
Hi Peter
Looking at the picture you posted and at the Pagoda group, I think we can narrow this down.
The picture:
W114 because it has the double bumper, W115s only had a single bumper, USA spec as it has side markers and sealed headlamps. It's a series I vehicle as it has small bumpers, no windscreen/A-pillar deflector, the side mirror is on a stalk (doesn't look like a W116 mirror on the quarter vent unlike the sedan where the quarter vent was removed and the mirror positioned at the leading edge of the door) and looking at the inside, we see it has a column shifter and a steering wheel with a chrome horn ring. Thus, it is an original /8 and provided that it hasn't been re-sprayed, then it must be one of the /8 or Pagoda colours.
We know it is metallic, so it can only be one of three:
387 H Blue
396 G Medium blue
906 G Grey blue
We can exclude grey blue from the get go.
Looking at some websites, I would guess that it is 387 H Blue. If you take a look at these two adverts for blue cars for sale, the Blue approximates better than Medium blue:
Blue: http://www.geevers.nl/en/inventory/mercedes-benz-280se-lage-grille-flachkuhler-cabriolet-802
Medium blue: http://www.geevers.nl/en/inventory/mercedes-benz-280sl-automatic-861
Lapis blue is from the year 1980, /8 were long superseded by the W123 by then.
Hope this help, but you should ultimately choose a colour that 'speaks' to you!
;)
When I was in the process of doing Mrs White's bare metal/windows out respray, I wanted to go with Smoke silver DB702, but I was forbade to do so by my partner. Mrs White looks lovely in Classic white 737, which is her original factory colour. One day maybe I'll find a W116 project car, and I can indulge myself. One way or another, you'll settle on a colour that's right for your car.
Hi Gavin and many thanks for the info. I think you are exactly correct in narrowing this down to 387H. I had both these cars on the same screen on the computer and they look identical. I owe you a beer sir ! not Fosters ha ha wouldn't do that to a fellow w116 owner. ;D I was almost convinced it had been resprayed in a non Mercedes colour but now I'm happy that the colour if defined, I also want the series 1 as you mentioned along with parchment interior, the double bumper the M110 engine, 108 steering wheel and I think this means I need to be looking for a 1972 model 280CE ?
P.S I'm with you on the smoke silver, I had a special order W126 (ex Cathay Pacific) chief pilots car out of Hong Kong and the smoke silver was the best colour fit for the 126, just perfect. Cheers again and thanks for the help sir.
That color fits the model so well. Glad everyone managed to figure out what it is.
Don't rule out 931 Magnetite Blue. It's period correct, also.

It's probably too late to matter, but I vote 931 Magnetite blue. It's very close to identical to my car, see pic (nice, eh? ;D). Color depth varies considerably depending on angle of light, direct sun etc.
