This is phenomenal...maybe others new about this site

http://old.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng

for mercs younger than 1980, plug in the VIN and away you go...for example, all i knew about my new 500sel was its VIN, engine #...it was supposedly an 88 but i wasnt sure...i had no idea where it came from

i have no concerns re security - here is the 500s VIN - WDB1260372A423878

voila, crazy!

Tim,
glad its not just me bamboozled by this thing....
when i said it was phenomenal, i wasnt referring to my spelling of 'knew/new', which well, is attrocious and not phenomenal at all!

I have used that site for years and have always checked that what I ordered was actually fitted to cars that I have purchased.

Unfortunately 116's are too early and at the other end they take a few months before a new car is entered.

Must check my ML500 but it was too early the last time I looked.

The three ML's I have ordered new did not come with data cards so I find it comforting to see I got what I paid for.

Equally some cars now can arrive with components fitted but not actually set up in the software to run so it is possible to get more than you pay for.
