Just on the G-Wagen front.. what's the general cost for a G-Wagen that's the same chassis / model as the one you're putting the 5.0L in Nath?

Also variance between the 6cylinder petrol, diesel and other engined versions?

Mine is the original chassis w460. In 83, Benz bought about 100 to Australia. Paorblem was that they were bloody expensive and didn't sell well. Ozzie ones were the 230 and 280 petrol or 300 non turbo diesel. The 230 is horrendously underpowered, the diesel is even slower. The 280 is not bad for the era, but a that doesn't say much! I bought a parts g for a gran, almost broke in two with rust. 5-6k might get u an average one that would need work. These are rarerthan 6.9s remember!  15 or so might get a pretty nice on. 20 plus would have toe slick. A custom 500ge? Well, I'm now up to 25k without the price of the g which we bought in 85! Ha ha

Wow! what a beast! read somewhere the australian army recently ordered G4s.  Not sure what happened to their land rover/landcruiser fetish? Any one looked into hitlers g4 and those early grossers? Incredible for the time!

My grandfather owned a G-Wagon and kind of like me starting out with nothing but working his way up to a mercedes, eventually got a navy blue one, my dad cant be bothered to drive but the desire skipped a generation I guess with me getting my own 116 lol, gwagons are awesome
