His commitment and optimism remind me of squiggle's 300sd project - some people are like a force of nature (unstoppable).

That thing is hideous and sad.  I think it needs these wheels:

Hideous yes, but not sad.  This guy lives in Kazakstan!  The amount of sheer craft and ingenuity that went into making this thing from scratch in my opinion deserves a certain respect.

I look at heavily modified cars like I do fantastic ice sculptures or sand art - they make no sense whatsoever, but the fact somebody leaned into the wind and made the things in the first place I find amazing.

I agree that they are the worst wheels ever! A guy where I work has them on a VR Commodore. Every time I see it, it makes me want to shove a stick in between the spokes.

Haha, right on MT. 8)

That engine is up there with the worst of all time in my opinion.

QuoteA round of applause for holdens engineering team for making such a colossal piece of shit.

I hate to do this, but much like the Rover V8, I think this is a rebadged US design. Holden Engineers haven't been allowed to design anything but chassis/engine mounts since the 308. I thought the first "Aussie" V6 was a Buick.
I also thought the Eco-Tec version from the VS to be the highlight!

Hahahaha love your comment regarding the 90's Commodore motors Major Tom .... We used to have a 1986 Ford Fairmont Ghia (near mint, only 50,000 ks), but god it was gutless. I think that motor put out about 120kw , and had a rev limit of about 4200 rpm from what I remember...

1981 Mercedes-Benz 300D

1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SE
1982 Mercedes-Benz 280E

Yup, Bang on!

The Holden V6 is a 70's Buick engine rescued from the scrap bin.

The 3.5 lt Rover engine is also a Buick creation dating back to the late 50's, not flawed in any way but ill conceived as all Alloy Engines were not well received by the US Public at that time.

The Rover V8 is instantly identifiable as a small block Chev and with a better cam and high rise manifold behaves like a SB Chev too!

Cant say the same about the Eco Tick V6

Had an 87 XF Fairmont ghia too, Highway ratio LSD choked it.

Put a Ute diff gear set in and it would smoke in first and 2nd.

Interesting piece!

Gets an A for effort from me, a B for execution and a D for fit and finish although as a 50 footer it looks the goods!

It does make me wonder what's in store for the DIY auto aficionado. I wonder if "kit cars' will become a thing of the past, and people will just begin fabricating their own panels and chassis at home, creating all kinds of strange and wonderful cars we've never seen before.
