That's some list mine consists mostly of Jaguars, including a '65 4.2 E-Type, of which I was a real fan until I discovered Mercedes. Did have a '59 Fairlane though which we went everywhere in and was great fun.

That must have been a bundle of off-road joy.

I'd love to hear your experiences and see a pic or two of the Jags you enjoyed...  Jags and Rovers - only in England can you enjoy those vehicles without outrageous expenses for parts and repairs.

I will see what I can sort out but as to parts being available they are not easy to get which is why the W116 is so good as a restoration project. The Jaguars here are no longer affordable and go for many tens of thousands. Saw an ad some time ago for the 1948 registered 3.5L saloon I had, it was the pre-war model with the SS dropped from the name for obvious reasons, and I sold it in the early 80s - the one in the ad was in show condition and they wanted £115,000 for it! Don't know if they got it but it was quite rare. Also had a couple of Mk2s, a Mk7 and a 4.2 E-type roadster which was bright red - those were the days. It was the XK engine I really liked, the twin OHC in line 6 which powered Jaguars for 30 years. Also had a '31 Singer Le Man, a really great little car bit like the MG TD, any way each was sold to finance the next project and now I have the W116 which I must say I really like and it is really interesting rebuilding it with the great advantage that most of the parts are readily available - thank you Mercedes!!!!
