I almost bought this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Mercedes-Benz-200-Series-Universal-Wagon-/174129690977?nma=true&si=rcw0iqOR1nisbGj8P1z%252FqKbUxzk%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 when it was rotting in a field in New Mexico. Sadly, the seller was just playing games and then decided he wanted to get big bucks out of it. It appears the paint buffed out nicely. I wanted to do an OM617 swap on it and make it into my day driver.

No, those guys are out in California. I actually had a Craigslist ad looking for a fintail wagon and was contacted by the person who had this one before. He told me to make an offer on it, and it seemed like I was going to be able to get it at a reasonable price. But then I guess the guy decided he wanted to auction it off and he stopped communicating. It appears the car has changed hands at least once since then.

Ah ok.  It seems that "quit communicating" and "sell out from under you" disease is rampant these days.  So disconcerting.  :/

YES! : Isn't that the truth.  I blame these people  that own a smart phone. You know the type. They write blogs, comment on forums and send messages instead of talking to people.. that's how we got here. ;D
