Yes I'm still here :)

Just wanted to share some bits.

I saw a PRISTINE 380SL parked near my sister's voice lessons school. As far as I can remember it's been parked there for quite some time, but I haven't noticed it until recently. It's about a half hour away from where I live but every Thursday and occasionally on some Fridays I pass it on the way to Costco or something haha.

Bigger news..

By my current school there is a home-based dentist office down the street. For years I've seen different cars come and go, and only recently have I noticed that there is a black W123 hidden away on the side of the house, just barely visible to passerby going down the street. I have seen it parked in different locations around the HUGE driveway however, so I know for sure it is still a relatively active and in-good-condition car. Plus, in the few times I've gotten a chance to see the whole car, it looks absolutely astonishing..

But what I'm more concerned about is the other car in the driveway.. This car I've seen at this house for the past two or three months I think, and now it's really starting to catch my attention; a W126. It's a.. blue?ish W126 in EXCELLENT condition, as far as I know. I haven't ever gotten up close to it but I pass it every day on the way to school. It just sits there looking all pretty and perfect, those big headlights staring at me as I whiz past. But three days ago something REALLY got me going.. The FOR SALE sign in the windshield.

I currently attend a private school and tuition is something I'm sure my parents will NOT miss now that I will be attending a public votech school next year. My question is.. how much would the AVERAGE W126 cost? I've absolutely no idea what actual condition the car is in but it looks great overall, and don't know the exact model designation. But how much would one of these gems cost?

116Benz

Depends on condition and history. there was a 5 cyl turbodiesel, 6 cyl turbodiesel, twin cam 6's (U.S didnt get them officially) single cam 6, 3.8 V8, 4.2 V8 a 5.0 V8 and a 5.6 V8 like all engines, oil changes were crucial. and cam chains need to be checked as well.

Money wise...sheesh, really depends on wether you want petrol or diesel or how many cylinders you want. I have seen as low as $500 for a car that would barely pass smog, up to 10k for a low mileage 560SEL that is a time warp car. Keep an eye on ebay, thats the safest bet.
