Beautiful coupe! I have a W124 saloon as my daily, I cherish my W116 too much to use every day. Well, she was my first Benz.
I also think it ws a great pity that MB used the sporty type grille on  the S-Class coupes and the charm of the star and grille on the E-class.
I think the E coupe looks so much more refined than the S-class coupes, I once saw a foto on the net of a W140 coupe with the saloon car front...a big E coupe. Lovely!

I still love to drive this car. I drove a 100% stock one that a friend owns and
I am so glad I did what I did to mine.

no choice it was an actual registered plate from berlin, yeah its a weird plate but it was dirt cheap  i got it for the plate frame   an audi inglostad frame

Darren, that's phenomenal!  As sacreligious it might be to the purist that's one fantastic looking conversion.  Is there more photos, a blog, or forum somewhere where you've documented the build?

nice update 124 coupe! is that like a 94 or 95 with the last update engine? the updates look a look better than the pre 92.
in contrsat, the preupdate 140s of s-classes look better than the updates in my opinion...now i dont like fat chicks, dont get me wrong, but
why did they bother trying to slim down the 140 with stupid lines and so on. the pre95s (?) look a lot better and i was hjust thinking last night when a nice
140 drove by how id like one (now i just need some coin, although they are very cheap right now)

Unfontunately I only have one before photo(before resto & before digital cameras)
An Ex took the lot 12 years ago.
I will see if I can scan the old pic and post it over the weekend.
It was a New Guinea Consulate car in Brisbane, so it had the 300 Chrome moulds over the wheel arches and full lenght of the body.
I bought or had given to me 8 other cars to get all of the parts to put it together.Front bar off one car door handle from another.
Had new glass cut for the sides as they are flat.All new rubbers.
It runs a 14.98 sec quater mile.@ 89mph

That finny is impressive.

I like the chubby S-Class... the W140 has a real presence about it, something that later models don't have. In contrast, I think the W116 is the "sleekest" looking S-Class.

That is a f-king nice vehicle you have there.

Awesome attention to detail, in, out and under. 11 out of 10, i bet it drives like a beast too.
