Is that a resto or a hot rod? A bit foolish to spend so much and be so careless.

116Benz

That looks like a full resto, and that was the original look of the car. What a bugger someone had a nasty off with it.

Wonder what happened ? Any idea ?

I went for a bit of a search and couldn't find any info.  But, funnily enough, do a youtube search and every GTHO filmed is doing burnouts.  :D  \
Straight out of the shop, I can't see how this one would've have been driven any different. ;D  just need pics of the black marks leading to that parked car.

Wish i had one, I'd sell it in a heartbeat.

And, would anyone NOT from australia beleive that some variants of these cars when genuine, in this condition are worth more than ANY new mercedes, except the maybach, and not by much mind you.

They eat 6.9's for breakfast too  :o

I can see it, the proud owner tooling along in his dream machine, listening for any rattle or creek, keeping a close eye on the gauges, paying attention to everything... but the road. Suddenly a "littel" puppy dog darts in to his path, the driver wrenches the wheel hard over to avoid hitting the dog and ends up colliding with a parked car. Surveying the damage, the driver is relieved to see the puppy scurry away.

Either that or he gave it a huge boot full, did half a uey and slammed into the nearest hard thing, now he feels like a complete dick head. Leaf springs and big 8s don't mix.

Probably the latter.

The HO, if that's what it is, most were wrapped round trees, the few remaining never see the light of day, looks very bent compared to the parked car, there must be more to it.

sigh....sitting back contemplating the next purchase..!

Well, I guess the restoration cost will now be a little more than $100,000 ! No doubt they will restore it though with the values they are getting.
