this is the oddest interior colour i have ever seen...i know amg and designo options exist but this isually reserved for mega rich sl or v12 owners...how the hell did such a crazy colour end up in a 124?

Henna red, yeah not a common interior colour.

116benz and I have been discussing this colour to put in my grey W108. It certainly does look good!

It was a favourite on the cars that MB USA used on their photo cars for brochures in the late 80's, it gave the impression of a rich, expensive looking interior. Most of the pictures had leather interior a smoke silver exterior or silver, the qld club librarian has a 300D black paint, henna interior. it does look classy!

Hi Guys, yip a interior colour used by MB , accross the different model ranges in the late 80's. My 88,W107 300SL imported from the UK has the same colour interior - called mid (medium ??) red ( 077 ) in the factory specifications  with light ivory (623) exterior. 8) It took me some time to get used to that specific interior colour as I was used to the more sombre cream, brown and tans but I do love it now ! ;D

That interior color goes well with top of the line MBs, the likes of the SL (R107/R129) or the S-Class (W126).  Though during the '80s, you can see a lot of lower end cars in the U.S. with the same interior color in cloth.  Chryslers and Buicks come into mind.  Nice find, though.

Hi Styria,
yes not a very nice ,rather dull exterior colour (623) on a R107 - But for sure very British ..as my 300SL is a UK import . That colour was used a lot on local South African W116 models, why I do not know ...maybe because a 116 in the heyday of it's production was the favoured transport of a lot of farmers (travelling dirt roads ) and that specific exterior colour does not show dirt so easily ??? :D
