Non MB Technical stuff, maybe of interest

Searching for info on gears and teeth I came across a couple of web sites that maybe of interest to some.

This University of Western Australia Mechanical Engineering site here has interesting stuff, the section on gear generation is about tooth shape and where they touch, just what I was after for further steering box play.

Another site, Brock Engineering here has some nice animations of mechanical things not very car related, the involute rack animation comes close.

Not to everyone's taste but if you have a mechanical bent they are good reading.
