Newbie from South Africa

I assume this is the place to introduce myself.

After 5 years of dilly dallying I bought a 1980 350SE a week ago - silver with camel/beige tartan interior - 231 000kms

Feel 45 years younger than my current 50!!

Driving it every day and planning:

timing chain replacement
steering box overhaul
gear selecter bushes replacement

I will be leaning heavily on this illustrious forum's advice and opinions.

I am looking forward to both the pleasure and pain of owning an older car!!!!

Welcome! where are you located?  MBCSA club member? 

THere are several hardcore S.A. W116 fans on this forum, ranging from Pretoria to Freestate to Cape Town.  I'm on the east rand.
