Thought I'd let you guys see some pics of the club's recently held concourse, which was held at Mercedes-Benz world in Johannesburg:

This 1985 300D below was recently bought by a friend of mine, David Main, with only 19 000km on the clock:

Only one W116:

"You've bought another bloody car?!? We should have you committed!" he shrieked, storming out of the room

Grant, wow!

My vote would go for the black on red finnie though.  I love that combo on the right chassis. I also particularly like how none of the older cars appear to have window tinting.  That finnie's a great example of how good clear glass looks.

That 500sl stands out too.  The grey/silver is appealing.

Value and panache per cost of ownership definetly the finnie, although 107s with no rust are diving toward $3500 with a smidge of luck due to panic over $3.50 a dollar gasoline.  Good investments right now are 500SEL or 500SECs, especially the odd non-federalized euro as you can't GIVE them away due to their reputation for poor economy and unreliable bits like moonroofs - a good 100,000 mile 560SEL recently sold here in my town for $1300 after being on the market for almost two years - nobody wanted the complexity and the damn seatback corner on the driver's side of ALL these cars must have a biodegradeable feature activated by farts.

Why do benz driver's seats ALL seem to require costly repair, even on low mileage cars?  Heck, Chevy and Ford leather looks new at 100K as long as you don't let the chickens roost in your car.
