If you didn't own a Mercedes?

If you didn't own a Mercedes, what would you own?

I like European cars in general, VW's, Audi's,

At the moment I feel like for a weekend car, something like this, XB coupe, with a big block and a supercharger sticking out through the bonnet.

I know I know, the coupes are imposable to see out of the back of, the steering is fairly vague, door handles and window winders fall off and are made out of rubbish.

Maybe then a dodge challenger or charger would be a better car, same deal big block with the supercharger. Fantastic cars, loved the old 1970's hoon car movies

Yes, Dodge Challenger or Charger for sure.
Maybe a 'Cuda.
They all look fantastic.

My "Dream Car" however is a DeTomaso Pantera.
But I can't afford one as I am married...bugga!

A Ferrari Testarossa from the eighties. God I love those cars. Dramatic as all Ferraris should be and as most of the modern ones are not.

More relaistically, I would also love a Jensen Interceptor III SP. 7.2 litres and superbly styled. Then there's an XK8, a BMW Z1, a Bentley T2 a Porsche 928GTS and I think I must have an Alfa Romeo before I die too.

On the modern car front, I have a new Land Rover Discovery. As a daily driver, there is no better car for me. Does everything I need of a car. Absolute perfection. Wouldn't have anything else.

Shit. Its Monday tomorrow.

In the "I wish" category, an early corvette roadster.  The one that that comes to mind if you said "corvette".  You know the one, red with the white scoop on the side. Secondly I'd settle for an early mid 60's 'stang.

In the realistic category. I do like Jag's.  Know nothing about them except the shape is lush anything up to a mid 80's model.  I've ridden in two.  Can't remember models, all I can remember is leather, wood, sound and smooooth.

More realstic category, if I didn't own a merc, I'd be driving a recent Ford Falcon. :-\

Porsche, another Porsche and another Porsche again.

But I'd always own at least one Mercedes (To keep me grounded and make sure I actually got there)

Maybe a Jensen interceptor. British Class, American muscle makes it a winner for me.
Else, maybe an old Aston Martin Vantage.

If I didnt own my E420 daily driver, I would probably get a Mazda MX5 Miata. I'm currently on a British Sports car kick and the Miata is the closest modern example of a British sports car with reliability.

BTW, on a different topic, I got my first ride in a colleagues MG convertible a week or so ago.  60's something, green.  At $10k AUD for a good one, that's what I'd be in now.

I just finished restoring a 1973 MGB convertible that I bought some time ago. I was completely stripped when I got it so wer went through the whole car and put a new wiring harness, dash, carpet, door panels, rebuilt the seats and put new covers and added a new top. I finally got behind the shiny new wooden steering wheel the other day and found out I don't fit.
