I witnessed something very strange today

I witnessed something very strange today, I was driving along some back streets and there was a funny little car on the road, he was driving on the edge of the road, doing about 20k's I guess. It was very low, looked like a bathtub on wheels with just the guys head sticking up out of it. He had a crash helmet on.
It was definately only a single seater.


It was so weird!
Some might say I've been on the strong Tasmanian mushrooms, but it was real!

I just don't know what it iwas


I like microcars, they make a lot of sense, especally considering how bad fuel prices are going to go.

Does anyone know what this might have been?

sadly not, there a backup of cars behind me, and I couldn't see any badges on it, the wheels were very small wheels, like 13" or smaller, very thin,

it was literally a bathtub with a flat top with just the guys head sticking out,

Picture this:

bathtub, axles sticking out front and rear, tiny little wheels on it, a flat cover over the top of the bath, no windscreen, nothing at all above the line of the tub, then a guys head sticking out of it.

Maybe it's some Tasmanian genius' new transport for going between here and Melbourne... assuming a bath tub can float to some degree....

I've been doing some reading on the net tonight and I am thinking it might have been a pedal car of some sort,
as it didn't have any visable lights front or rear,

I am guessing a pedal car would be considered a push bike? so you have to ride it on the hard left like a bike
