I hate 80's limos but...

I love this one. It looks timeless and not dated like most old limos.

What's interesting is right after I saw this on Ebay I was looking through old copies of The Star magazine (published by Mercedes Benz Club of America) Sept/Oct 1989 to be exact and saw this in the classifieds.

geez I wonder what the reserve is now.  It's only travelled an extra 3000 miles since The Star ad.

The W126 limos pop up frequently in Oz but look so daggy.  No one seems to use them any more.  People getting married seem to use 2 and 4 door classics, high school leavers do the same and execs get chauffered in or ride in top 4 door sedan mercs, beemers or audis.  Apart from a stretch hummer on wedding duties recently, I haven't seen a limo on the road for ages.

Do they even have limos in Griffith, Oscar?

The said Hummer was hired from Melbs but there's only one limo in town.  Plenty of stretched hearses though. hehe.
Not even sure what this lone limo is.  It looks American from side on or it could be a 70's Aussie LTD.  Belongs to a fella that owns a motel plus a bunch of other real estate.  Hasn't moved since I've been here.

There is in fact a black 126 stretch that ive seen in hobart a few times, like most stretch limos this old it looks a bit wavy and saggy in bits. There was one in some jacky chan movie from the 80s when i was a kid and i thought it was the bees knees.

Obviously different but this one is on eBay AU at the moment, seems reasonable price if it doesn't blow out in the next 5 days.
