I concur with that... what an epic event it would have been.

Its good to see cars like this Pig get used every so often instead of sitting motionless in some museum for the rest of its life.

Hey, repainting another merc like the Red Pig was my idea ::)   I don't get why there's no video of the two.  I had seen this s63 before from a friends email but no details.  Seeing them on the track together via your link flutes - surely someone took a video.  I've never heard the red pig around a track.  Those old videos, whilst very cool, have audio overlaid and not the real thing unfortunately.

The original article (in the German: Link) has more photos, but still, no video.  I think it's odd too Oscar.  All that fuss there must be a video - perhaps it's being hoarded for a TV show.

QuoteBecause we know all too well that if entered in an endurance race, it just wouldn't last. Overengineering and ridiculous power have gone the way of the dodo.

That sums it up the old cars nicely for me :)

There is an article in the W116.org library, if I recall correctly, about the M116 and by linage M117 being de-tuned racing engines. It certainly feels that way for me.
