this cute little guy followed me home today, i called on a ad on the internet and left a message. They wanted $1,000 for this cute little W114 so i was blown away when they said they would give it to me for free! It was not running, needed new tires and it has $646 owed on back taxes. I threw in some new plugs and points, Adjusted the webers and it runs so smooth you could balance a nickel on the motor. I also threw on a new set of tires!! :)

no real rust! just some very small easily fixable spots, 98k miles one owner!!:)

w114's are an absolute pleasure to drive, unfortunately they seem to be rust magnets down here. Very rare to see one still on the road as almost all of them have been totally consumed by rust.

what you talkin bout PB?!

Nice one 500, you are on a benz collecting rampage. the interiors on the 114 seem to be indestructible - and that light colour looks nice
regards and congrats (free - WTF?!)

Fair go Nathan, yours is probably one of the best in the country AND its had a seventeen million dollar ground up restoration ;)

They are no plentiful, just admit it ;)

That's a cool looking car... I like the colour.

I would agree that most W114's have disappeared due to rust just like W108's etc, unfortunately. My Dad looked at purchasing a W114 in 1992... I remember the sight of the rust well, lifting up the carpets etc. We saw at least ten of them. Admittedly he was looking at the lowish end of the market at the time.
Damn, now I want a W114 as well. ::)
Nathan, that 250 is awesome.

Hey, sunroof is rare in those cars.  And the price was right!

But - its not black - can you cope with the change from your standard colour?   ;)

I'm sure for that price, he can go to the hardware store and get a gallon of black paint - and some brushes !

You joke about that - back when I was university, there was this girl (quite good looking, equally lacking upstairs) - and she painted her car with PVA/latex paint  (meant for interior painting of houses) and rollers.  She wanted a different colour.  I kid you not.  It did not have any gloss whatever, but abundant orange-peel.

I remember we had an FJ Holden, and the head liner was torn, so we got a large poster, and glued it to the remnants. Worked well ! Was there for years.

i was shocked to see that this car was not totally rusted out, and i am trying to cope with the change in color. Blue is just very 70's ...lol

I used to drive a w114 250CE and it was so rusty!,
rust around the windscreen, rust around the doors, rust around the boot, rust around the...you get the picture.
it was a uk import though. it was really too far gone to do anything with.

very rare to see a non rusty crusty w114
