G-wagens a go-go

Was at MB Spares today, and it's G-wagen mayhem there at the moment.

Was just wondering, Nathan, if you know the gold (rusty-ish) 280GE that has arrived here from WA? Aside from the rust, it's a lovely looking wagen, and I was told it's owned by the President of the Club in WA. Just thought I'd ask our west-side G-man for the lowdown...

Apparently we're to expect a G-influx due to the national G-meet at the G-spot later this year...or something  8)

Dear Crayford,
I respectfully suggest you buy yourself a nice Flavia coupe and forget the G-Wagen. The G-Wagen will give you biceps that you may not yet want... :o
In fact, if there were a nice Flavia coupe available, I would buy one to sit beside the Spirit in the garage...
Regards,
BC
Edit - since someone will ask, here is a Flavia Coupe - http://advoc5te.homelinux.org/alr/PhotoAlbums/2005Castlemaine/B874818314_00021.htm

BC, i dont wanna hear such blasphemy!

Crayford...so did the WA merc guy sell it to someone interstate?  he is not the president as i understand, but he is associated with the club...he bought it for 25 grand about 7 yrs ago when it was a nice vehicle and let is slowly wither away into the rusted and dented thing it is now...no respect , no respect...
personally, it ticks me off when people do this to nice cars...i appreciate your money, do what you want with it, but this vehicle didnt deserve this demise!  oh well, better for me as old fatty (my red G), is now alone the best G in the state!
thanks for the update Mrs Crayford!

Ooh, yes, that's the one. Now that I know your opinion, I'll come out and say that it's in a sorry state, that gold one. And very sad to see, as the GE is a rare beast. It was implied that said owner shipped the G over for the big meet. They were giving it a wash at MBS, and said they needed to do some work to it (I think "some" was an understatement, truth be told). Always happy to oblige with a little gossip... ;D

BC - I would lurve a Flavia Coupe. Or a Flaminia. Or even a nice Fulvia HF. I'd even have my Montecarlo back in a heartbeat! Shall we let them do their own googling to find those ones?  ;)
