diesel S class now in Australia

I thought i was seeing things yesterday, when a new S class S320 CDI was casually being driven up the freeway before its predelivery preparation, still covered in factory plastic protection and bags on the seats and no licence plates. But, sure enough, looking at the MB Australia web site, the diesel S class is now available here in Australia as the entry level v6, Its quite an impressive engine too.

This has to be very recent, diesel S classes have never been sold in Australia, ever.

Is that the 3.5lt V6 engine?

That shows you how much times are changing. It would have been interesting to see.

The specifications and performance are impressive, but the profile is just too Camry-like for me. If it weren't for the star and the grille, there's no way that it's obviously a Benz. Pity. Ho-hum.

remarkable that diesel S classes never have been sold in australia , we have in holland since the early 90's officially sold diesel S classes , and i thought that the diesel S class was verry late on the holand market
