Its a very basic early model, but the condition is quite remarkable.  Religeously serviced at the main dealer every 10 000km.  I'm impressed.

Its a bit stressful for me at the moment as she is struggling to remember to use the clutch on a manual car so the tranny has taken some nasty crunches already

that is one seriuosly clean engine bay.  i didnt mind the shape too much on these 202s, but the interior dash was abysmally cheap.  hope your wife gets many happy miles out of the 180 (and the clutch! ;))

The 202's went through a number of spec upgrades and the later hi spec versions are prety luxurious with a lot of leather and burl, but the best C220 autos were out of my price reach.  THis car is basic, but the more I look at it the more excited I get.  For instance, the hinge areas of the doors look like they were made yesterday.  This car has the potential to be something special.  I spent most of the day polishing out minor blemishes.

My wife keeps commenting that the doors are really solid and close with an impressive thud.  I warned her - now she is fast becoming a convert to our cause.

We had a pretty good run out of the 2 we had, both were C180's, both classic. The only problem we had was that it felt underpowered but we fiddled with the EZL/KAT switch in the engine bay and then ran them on premium, made a difference. They even returned pretty good figures on trade in too, The manual box on these are a little bit vague and slightly long throw, there isnt much you can do about that, but I'm sure given time wifey will be up there with the best of them making the most of the rev's.

From the recent thread about your car getting hijacked it sounds like you need a handgun in the drivers door pocket as well
