'91 W126 500SE Ignition module help

Ah, the idle control module is located beneath the dash on the driver's side (near cruise control module). It is a black plastic box, and it almost certainly will require resoldering.

Unfortunately I never had a KE-Jet (late model) 126, so I'm not sure about any specifics relating to engine management I'm afraid.

@JohnQ; I'd check out the Benzworld forum for info.

Tim, thanks for getting back to us, unfortunately, I find Benzworld a bit difficult to muddle through (older pc runs slow!) I did have a good look through it but didnt find any topics specific to the symptoms. Just finding a wiring diagram for my car is a nightmare. I have to keep trying though

I know the feeling regarding Benzworld, it's a PITA to put it mildly.

There was a full manual download link somewhere on that site as well. Alternatively, you could search for a (file type starting with the letter T  ).
