I thought that was going to be a 6.3 that they'd managed to get under 10 secs!

unfortunately not.

i dare say nothing at all Mercedes related has contributed to that 9 second performance.
Thus its about as much of a "mercedes" as is the plastic wrapper that sort of looks like a ford/chev dropped on top of a nascar.

Thumbs firmly pointed down.

Meh, but perhaps the first time you ever seen a Mercedes doing a wheelie.

I'm sure a stock standard 300SD can do that  8)  ;)

Thanks for that, I now write a monthly column in the MBCV magazine dedicated to modified/customised MBs.  This is just the sort of car I'm looking for my next article.

Good work the people who build these, the alternative is usually a car about to be sent to the wreckers anyway.

I.

Sweet as.  Regardless of what's under it, it's still pretty cool to see a benz do a wheel stand!!'

To get a benz powered benz to do a wheel stand like that - you need to spend probably 50K more than what a chev costs to do it with.

haha, wasn't expecting a wheelstand.  What's the squirt of 'steam' from the 108 at 7seconds?  Assuming it's not a misdirected windshield washer squirting, what's the driver testing there?

I'm 99% sure it's NOS...  Someone else might be able to correct me though.  :-\

I don't know much about drag cars - would that have a parachute fitted?

Oscar, he's priming the NOS system, basically bleeding it out to ensure there is liquid NOS available all the way up the lines right up to the injection valve.

Ah thanks Cam and sclass.  Flutes, I don't know much about em either but I reckon it hasn't got a chute because you usually see the packed chute hanging at the back somewhere.  This w108 looks clean.  Maybe when the brakes come on the doors and boot fly open. ;D

Damn.  I was just thinking how cool a parachute would be as an option...
