At very short notice the MBCCWA has requested as many M-B's and Smarts as possible to get together tomorrow to shoot a video commercial for the M-B Car Clubs National Rally to be held in Perth in 2010.

I will be taking my 6.9 and they are meeting at Parliament Place in West Perth then moving onto Kings Park and then onto Cottesloe Beach.

I know it is short notice but if you have a couple of hours to kill and a shiny car I am sure you would become a part of immortality.

There was actually a quite amazing roll up for the short notice and they are using the Video as advertising for the 2010 National M-B Rally to be held in Perth.

There was another 6.9 there but I only noticed it as we were driving away (my wife was with me and when the filming was finished she wasn't going to be hanging around) and the owner had been on the previous 116 drive in Perth a few months ago but unfortunately I recognised it all too late.

I met a new prospective W116.org member with a Euro 450 so I hope he extends his interest to this site.

There was alot of interest in my 6.9 with bonnets going up and down etc.

stills will likely be posted on the site well after the 2010 rally im sure!  the site hasnt been updated in a very long time last time i actually checked.
I would like to see you as president Bill, rather than the usual tools who get a trip to stuttgart, owned one merc and know nothing about the brand or its history...

excuse the ramblings of captain critical,
busy workload means i only check the site once every couple of days at the moment compared to the usual 3-4!

The 6.9 was a red one with light coloured interior. The guy did have lunch with us at the beach but I don't remember his name.

I must say attending the usual M-B Car Club meetings has not evoked a lot of interest in me and I have not attended any previous run but there was a lot of genuine interest in my car and the guys who were there had a real spread of collection of cars from an Early Diesel to a brand new CL500 and everyone is an enthusiast in the make.

I have a few photo's that I took of some of the cars that caught my eye including one of only 59 ever made - RHD 220SE ponton convertible
