AMG 6.9 at the Classic Centre

Popped into the Classic Center in Stuttgart yesterday. They have a late 1978/early 1979 AMG 6.9 for sale - # 5881 if I recall correctly.  Mileage is shown as 11,000 km and the asking price is EUR 90,000. Options include ABS and climate control. It also has the speakers in the corners on top of the dash - the early type of dash. It has had a recent repaint, but under the bonnet, it needs a damn good detail and does not look like it is an 11,000 km car. Seems grossly overpriced on my humble opinion.

There was also an original 600 Grosser SWB, with 5,000 original KM. It is a one owner German car, and was only driven on family ceremonial occasions - hard to imagine what that would be, except for weddings and funerals. It was apparently seldom driven on the road. They drove it mainly on their "estate". Must be a large estate. Price around EUR 400,000.

There was also a 1953 300 (Adenauer) cabriolet, which had been restored by the Classic Center. It was an ex Italian car, and I have to say that the standard of the car was disappointing for a factory restoration. No radio - although they had a Becker Nurberg sitting on the shelf in the showroom. The front indicators were incorrect for a 1953 model, paint had many imperfections, wrong bows on the top, etc. etc. For a EUR 300,000 car, it was quite disappointing.

Was this the same 6.9 I saw some years ago? My photos of that car can be found at http://gallery.w116.org/v/show_room/classic_centre/

Craig that price makes the one at Classic Centre in Irvine look like a steal  - $175,000 US with 229m on the clock and unadulterated.  Or so I've read.
