I wonder why a diplomat choose this model?
I know that in Brazil it's not unusual to find 'lesser' models with higher specs that 'superior' models. My own Lady Geneviève is an example of that, her first owner was a high-ranking military offical during the Brazilian dictatorship.

Every time I see a good black 116 it helps tempt me to go that way for trusty rusty.  I'm thinking black on black with polished Pentas.

I reckon a white W116 and a black one would suit me perfectly...perfect contrast and all and I like the look.

black ( 040G ) is an rare color for the W116 there are not much W116's who are original 040g black at least not much here in europe i ever saw in black , and the few i saw were (former) diplomat cars
