drove the 6.9
« on: 20 July 2008, 04:26 AM »

Wow - not since February have i done this.

I reiterate - wow!

with no clutch fan, the engine revs quietly, cleanly and even more effortlessly all the way to the red line.  Its a whole new beast under the bonnet, it sounds like a piston engine, not a jet engine.

I cant believe how easily it revs, like a little rice burner, what great, well balanced engines m100s are. I'm astonished.

it did great, although i only drove around the block.

I think its frowned appon by the authorities driving with no bumpers installed.  Roll Eyes

I miss driving the 500e, man it will feel so good to drive it again! so i am sure driving your 6.9 put a big smile on your face... but i bet you did'nt break the speed limit while going to redline;)

Enthusiasm is re-awakened with every drive! It is every time I get behind the wheel and it doesn't even need to be a 6.9! Grin

There is a picture of my bumperless rear in "6.9 rice"

I have obtained aftermarket nuts and bolts for my bumper and may start assembling it tomorow. I still cant fully install it, as i dont have the rubber pads that sit between the bumpers and the body. Very exciting regardless... For me anyway Tongue
