6.9 numbers in Oz

Thanks to all for continued PMs re 6.9s noted for sale and elsewhere.
a very dodgey and probably slightly erroneous paper and pen calculation from my excel doc has the following

=174 6.9s known of in oz

99 cars are known by VIN
54 by number plate
several by engine by number
and the others by alternative means!

You have done well - that's a fair percentage of the original delivery.  You have listed Andrew280SEL's new acquisition?

There would have been a large number of Euro's imported from SA, Japan, UK and Hong Kong as this was a busy toime for importers and the 6.9 was in demand in the early 80's.

Nathan, have you included non-Aus delivery private imports in that list?  Do you have any idea of numbers for private imports?

ive got the import numbers but im on the wrong computer and need to make my tables a lot easier to use (they are a little bitjumbled at the moment)...
off hand, there must be at least 20 imports...On Bills comment, imports have only come from the UK. Bills is the only HK car i know of, and with 6.9s - i have never come across an SA nor a Japanese import.
i think i have down 5-10 or so wrecked in the log.

Its been very good having all the input of 116 fanatics contribute to this info.  Disappointingly, a former 116er who had some other numbers from the east coast volunteered to 'swap' but after receiving my excel doc of 150 or so vehicles, never got back to me despite friendly reminders...otherwise, we may have hit ~ 200 and be very close to knowing about almost all 6.9s in oz!
