How about a DIY section?
« on: 07 February 2008, 02:09 PM »

As much as everyone wrenches on their MB's around here,I think this would be a great addition. Everyone just grab their cameras and chronicle their projects,no matter how insignificant and it should fill up fairly steady. Fully documented and photographed SLS rebuilds, window replacement, shocks, head removals,etc,etc..... I dunno, just a thought.

Seconded. Cool

I've put a few bits together but they slide away into the distant pages like all threads eventually do and I'm finding it harder to search for particular how-to's that I or someone else wrote.  Especially when I can't remember the threads' titles.

Thirded.

As Oscar says they disappear into the past very quickly and it is only individual memory or careful searching that resurrects them.

My wish has always been for the best articles to be somehow indexed and placed in the library.

I would definately agree.

And 'careful searching' is certainly correct. I've found you have to be very accurate and sometimes very clever to get certain threads to be found in the search. Some have been extremely hard to find (maybe I'm just search retarded...  Wink ) but still I think an archive of the very best and informative threads is a good idea.

Heck, I even started one such possible thread  Grin, which Nutz contributed VERY good injection system info and diagnoses, among other great info from fellow forummers.

(Not exactly a 'DIY' thread, I know, but I would think an archive of really handy info is a good idea also)

You know, a you-tube link would be nifty - or some other way to "stream" photographs...

Speaking of which - I took my G*&sh Da)(* alternator off in November ...  and had to get a new soldering tool (the cold/tip ceramic) as I dropped the sumb*tch and jerked a wire loose.

Now I can't remember how it goes.

I always thought this one was a 4.5L due to the tags in youtube, plus a 6.9 with LSD would've left a double track wouldn't it?  Though every shot obscures where the left hand track would've been.  But surely you'd take footage of a double track if you could lay one down.

I never noticed the curtains before though Cool
