W116 Service manual & location of auxiliary fan relay

I have a 1980 300SD where the aux fan does not come on over 100 degrees C.  I have checked the fan and fuses 2 and 10 (relay coil and fan power). The next thing I need to check is the aux fan relay. I cannot find it.
The W126 service manual is great but when I go to the ETM manual, wiring diagram, on page 1 there is a box that says "component location". I click on that and get the following error message: The requested URL / 1980 300SDComp1.pdf was not found on this server. I think the file is missing. I did a google on it, but couldn't find anything.   So I have 2 questions: 1 . Does anyone know where the 300SDComp1.pdf file is?  Or 2. Does anyone know where the aux fan relay is on this model? On later 300SDs (W126) the relay is in the fuse box.
But on this one, there is only fuses in the fuse box. I took a look under the drivers side dashboard and saw 2 bright shiny boxes, but they looked to big to the typical 5 terminal Mercedes relay. I think it is that relay because in the schematic they refer to the typical terminal numbers ( 87, 87a, 86, etc) of that style relay.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!!

UPDATE:  There is actually a lot of good info in this in this forum. Do a search on "fan".  I ended up grounding the temperature sender switch as a test which energizes the relay coil and the fan came on!  So I know the
fan and the relay are good.  It also has a switch to monitor the AC coolant temp in parallel, so either of them could turn the fan on, but I am not working on that right now.  It also tells the temp sending switch is probably bad since it was reading over 100 degrees C on the guage.

Still be nice to have the component diagram if anyone knows where that file is.

UPDATE2:  I see the component location pdf is posted now. Excellent!!  Thanks!!

On a Euro there are three relays in the drivers side kickpanel - one of them controls the fan supply among other parts of the HVAC system.

On a RHD they are below the handbrake and visible after removing teh kickpanel and the knee roll.

I believe the LHD are a mirror image with it being in the kick panel next to the drivers left foot in an LHD.

Look in the wiring chart - find the number attached to the relay and that number will be on the wiring loom where it is joined to teh relay.

If your 116 has been converted to H134a gas the fan is usually re-wired up to a new relay so that it not only runs from the temp sensors in the head and the high pressure aircon line but is also set to run whenever the compressor cuts in.
