Parts Donor Car – What to save??

Hi Everyone,

I've just bought a parts donor car 280SE '76 to make my imported 300SD look more at home.

It has 138k kms, perfect headlights and bumpers, a mint tex Brown interior which I don't need, along with a set of brown leather seats – which I don't need either. It doesn't run because of a duff fuel pump, and has average corrosion.

Aside from the lights and bumpers, I'm going to have the rear screen along with the dash and instruments. Beyond that there is nothing which is essential for me.

The mileage looks genuine, and it has five metric bundts with 6/8 mm.

I live 120 kms from The Fatherland(of plenty), and Ebay Germany is already packed with spares which are postable at a reasonable rate, or make a  trip to collect worthwhile. That said, my small parts could be posted from Germany as I'm a frequent visitor to collect my beer supply, so at least I can be competitive. I can research sold prices on Ebay, and weigh those against the hassle of removal and packing, so that will get me most of my answers, but I was wondering if there were any particular items that would be considered a 'must keep' or not overlook for re-sale before I have the shell carted away?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

if youve got the space, keep as much as possible.  youd be surprised how often you can lose a certain bolt or clip.  even the brown interior, you can cram this into quite a small space, you may not want it now but you may find another enthusiast down the track who is grateful you kept it!
aside from the bits you stated, window regulators are a common weak point so keep them.  i say this having the benefit of using my dads place as a stroage place for the wrecks i have bought previously...

I also got a brown interior. How's the condition of the rear seats minus the backrest? Mine are so saggy, you can feel the floor when you sit on them.

There is really a large number of important and potentially expensive parts which should be removed from wrecks/donors.

dashboard handsdown,
the read window is simple after you cut the seal, push it out with your hands.
the front dash however....
