Need help tweaking the new EPC install. Desperately!

Hi guys,

I just successfully installed the 2014 EPC. At least, it should..
Log-in window tells me Java is supported, browser is supported, and databases are loaded.
Green light all the way.

But, when i log in, it tells me access is already enabled, so I need to enable it again. Strange, but it lets me do so.
So, now I am in, and the side-software starts loading.
At the end of that, a red window appears, telling me
"error attempting log-in
"unable to log in to the EPC database"

That's as far as I got.
By the love of all that's holy, it has been a week of hammering now, and I am still stuck.
I could really do with help now.
Quite willing to call anyone internationally, long-distance, in any time-zone for some real-time help doing the settings, for the issue lies no doubt with the group and user settings .

Forget about users and groups, log in as an administrator every time.

Did you come to the server setting screen where you are entering the license?

I noticed that latest Java requires http://localhost:9000/ to be enabled or whitelisted otherwise it complains and just fails.
