Since this is a rather unique topic, I will post this on various pages.
Moderator, please forgive me.
This may just be the only way my 2 W116's will ever see the tarmac again.

The company that took on my case of Concours restorations of my 2 W116, here in Taiwan has moved to a new, modern facility, and they are expanding to a new level, aiming for the right level.
In the light of this, they are hiring 2 foreigners, experienced mechanics.

-Male or female, must speak some English.
-Must have 5+ years experience in the field of car repair.
-Not looking for sheet metal specialists, but for people with a good eye, and love for vehicles, when it comes to taking cars apart, and putting them back together.
-Knowledge of EPC and other data bases is a bonus.
-Job does not include overseas purchases or shipping of parts.
-Job requires no Chinese, but offers an opportunity to learn some.
-Experience in refurbishing engines in detail is a bonus.
-Candidates that are without encumbrances would be most suitable.

In return they offer a soft landing in Taiwan
-pick-up from airport to your personal furnished apartment.
-Flights and transport all paid for.
-Long-term guidance in English as to how to get by on a daily bases.
-Free mobile phone
-Free scooter
-Free use of car when available
-Weekends off
-9 to 6 hour-days with long lunch break
-an important say in purchase of specific tools
-an environment where the gentle owner and manager both speak excellent English
-an environment where rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous is a given.
-a chance to work with super cars, classic cars and very mediocre cars.
-a country, renowned for being jam-packed with stunning, skinny, financially independent women that love foreigners.
-Low-cost holidays on around-the-corner white beaches with palm treas and more of such skinny women.
-a chance to excel and shine in an area where, in Europe, you would not even get noticed for.

Payment will be ample for daily living, and such will remain the case until quality of performance has been proven.
In the first stages, it will NOT be enough to be sending money home (with the excessive cost of living in Europe)
Considering the cost of living is half that of Europe, you will be comfortable enough at beginner-level.
What the future will bring, is to be seen, but, me, Stan, the Ohlins distributor here will vouch for all correct treatment, especially if you decide to return home, and expect all expenses paid, as promised.

Your first 2 cases WILL be my 2 W116's and I will hunt you down in Birmingham if they break down, haha!
Also, consider that this is/would be the only restoration shop with foreign standards in a country with 27 million people.
It's quite the crown, if you can provide the standards.
You would not just be a mechanic, you would be the man.

Please, anyone, if you know anyone, or if you are the guy/girl, let me know, and I will take care of everything that comes after that.

Some additional data;
The company's called Garageclassics, and they're on facebook
https://zh-tw.facebook.com/pages/%E7%B6%93%E5%85%B8%E8%BB%8A%E6%A5%ADGarage-Classics/192701674091755

The owner is very much serving the rally crowd here, and is an avid racer himself. You'd be seeing a lot of rally cars in this job, some of them top models, and rare classics.
GarageClassics is also an active importer of custom-ordered cars from Europe.
Including the parking lot in the back, the garage is the size of a football field, with over a 100 rare cars parked in the back, awaiting restoration, or simply serving as parts cars. There are Ferrari's, Lotus, Rolls-Royce, Citroen DS, Alfa's en countless others.
In the back is a separate workshop area, specially for sheet work and spraying. Naturally there are spray cabins.
If you have further questions, let me know!

Hi floyd111, cool thread, certainly out of the ordinary to say the least! Best I can do is offer three references for the follow people:
1) TJ450 (Tim) an absolute machine in the garage!;
2) WGB (Bill) again a remarkable achiever in the garage; and, last but not least;
3) Ed China from Wheeler Dealers, no idea what happens off camera but works for me! Just don't tell Mike Brewer!

PS: for working on Lotuses a prerequisite is patience of a saint and advanced Yoga Master skills and then some, trust me :/

Thanks for the reply.
BTW, this search extends to various countries in Europe.
Als, it needs to be said that, even though wages in the first 2 try-out months will simply be ample, there is proper money waiting close-by.
Also, it is not on a project-bases. It is a genuine job, for anyone thinking short-term, but especially those considering emigration.

The first 2 people you mentioned.. who are they? Are they reading this?

TJ is a regular poster on this forum. I believe he's a single fellow, but whether he's interested in leaving AU to do nothing but work on cars is another matter. My experience from reading his postings is there is hardly anything he won't try regarding a car... :)

WGB was a regular poster, but since he married last year, we've not seen much of him. He's not a candidate (I would think) with a new bride and also being a practicing Medical Doctor...

No luck yet, guys.
Please, if you know anyone, pass it on!
It's a great job and a great adventure. -for a real mechanic.

Little update:
This add has always been for a mechanic that can professionally take classic cars apart and put them back together.
The garage I spoke of has now asked me to ALSO source a master panel beater, and/or a skillful apprentice panel beater.
Even though they have an apprentice, and a master with golden hands, it is expected he will retire in a year or 5. They want to make sure present quality levels are kept into the future.
Any master panel beater would be as welcome, for there is much work to do.

Just for comparison sake:
The average monthly income in Taiwan is around 30.000ntd (1000usd) for a 50-hour workweek. This allows for very comfy living, for life is pretty cheap here.
Back in the day, I lived off 20.000ntd or less, for 8 years and it allowed for a 3-floor row-house rental in the suburbs of Taipei, a scooter, a phone and a Honda Shadow 400 project.

This garage offers beginners-wages at 50.000nt/month for a 40 hour week and skilled personnel could end up making twice that much.
That's a job on a tropical island with hundreds of miles of undisturbed white beaches, flights paid.
If you know anyone, please pass the word!

OK, this is fresh again. More mechanics needed. Conditions remain the same, but people with special skills could negotiate better deals.
