hello mates!

Is our good 'ol M110 engine runs on LPG without blowing itself apart? I'm torn apart bet. changing the good Solex carb sold in Manila or running fully on LPG. Any thoughts?

Craig B here in Adelaide is running a 280S on LPG with no problems.
He even used it at Mallala doing sprint racing. He now has an SEC to race and the 280 is back to being a daily driver.
So you shouldn't have any problems running yours on LPG.

PM responded to Takernz but basically mine is still running great and very economical to run.

another sad 280s

my merc mechanic has tried convincing me to go straight gas, no carb. (bought a new one for au$3,000, more original). already comes with hardened valves so no worries there. it's also possible to get the fuel guage to be your gas guage( don't quote me on that though (8 yr wild turkey has an effect)). get the fuel tank out and put the gas tank in it's place. also if your carby is unwarped you shoulg be  able to find a buyer .

LPG-powered 280s is a new "thing" to me. What does it do for mileage? Performance? Is it safe to use as compared to gasoline? How much to convert? Man, I'm just full of questions, aren't I? But information never hurt anyone as far as I know.   :)
