Get rid of Hydro-pneumatic suspension

Hi All

I have a friend with a 350SE with SLS on the back. Suspension is bad and wants to upgrade to normal shock absorvers, what do I need to change? I read that I need harder springs and a plate to fit where the hydro-pump is fitted on the engine, is that right? does anyone has photos or any link to a post or similar?

Thanks to all

That has everything covered, except that you will need the special bolts(studs) to mount the shocks.

Definitely change the springs.

When I did mine on the 450SE, i changed the springs and shocks at the back, removed the two accumulators and level-ride valve (though they can be left in place, it won't harm anything), removed the SLS pump and replaced it with a blanking plate, and removed the hydro-fluid tank.  the lines which run from the front to back of the car are still in place.

Hope this helps.

Sorry TJ, but which bolts?  Standard shocks and hydro struts have the same bolts.  On povo I threaded a bolt and took one from an SLS wreck and it fitted ok.

Sorry, my mistake.

It is only 6.9s that have the standard bolts, all others have the special studs and nuts/washers.
