Eurospec lights RHD/LHD?

Hi Everyone,

I'm about to start 'Europeanising' my 300 SD
I've been offered a set of headlamps from the UK. Can they be adapted to fit a LHD vehicle?
Is it just down to alignment, or is there a funamental difference which can't be altered?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Best wishes from Belgium,

Paul

The headlights on a LHD have a been that is offset to the right. On a RHD car, the beam is offset to the left. Therefore on a dual carriageway, you will probably blind oncoming traffic. If there are testing stations where you live, it will probably fail a test.

One thing you can do is place stickers on the corner of the lights so that they block part of the reflector. This is what owners of LHD cars in the UK had to do.
With best regards

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I've just this minute heard an offer I made on  a LHD parts car has been accepted.

It's got metric Bundts - would you know anything about them??

A spare leather interior comes with it if anyone wants to mail me.

Looking forward (not) to replacing the rear screen!

Cheers,

Paul

You can also just change the lenses to LHD ones and then keep the Euro lights, but this option will be more expensive than the stickers.
