Can someone with the engine removed from their W116 take a measurement for me? I need the inside to inside frame rail dimension, across the engine bay, in front and behind the front cross member. Thanks!

Not really but I appreciate the effort.

The green lines are the measurements I need.

The only thing I can think of is to make a trammel. You should be able to get all of the measurements with it.

I don't need the measurement to be accurate to a fraction of an inch. No need for a trammel as I'm not trying to repair a damaged frame. I figured someone on this forum has their engine out and could use a tape measure to get the measurement I need. Thanks for the suggestion. That's a neat measuring device.
