My two center air vents are not working.  Everything goes out the defrost and two side vents.  (This is a no go in Vegas)
Does anybody know if you can replace the pods that run the center air doors without removing the entire dash pad?  If the dash pad has to come out, Ill be buying a new one to replaced the cracked old one!

The center vent is fresh air only... So might not be a problem....

But first is it ac?

LOL Did they make 6.9's without A/C?

I've never seen a 6.9 without A/C, only lower spec cars. 8)

We don't have to worry about those pods with the Euro A/C... I'm pretty sure 1980sdga has posted regarding these.

bbnlv,

All 6.9's had a/c with optional ACC starting in 76 for all markets.

Take a look at Ckamila's post regarding his a/c evap/box rebuilt and you will find a lot of answers and tips on how to repair the center flap, it could be a vacuum leak, a bad vacuum pod, bad dash temp sensor, bad acc amplifier, bad servo, please give us more details of what you car does.

Calvin, bbnlv's car has ACC so it has its own actuator pod.

Tks,

Joe

Thanks joe!

bbnlv - happy to provide more pictures if needed. My rebuild was a take off of Major Tom's with the help joe, KenM, 1980sdga (jon) and others.
If it's not broke i haven't fix it yet...
