HI i am new to w116.org so hopfully will get some help with my problems.
I own a 1975 280SE with D jetronic fuel injection. The problem I am having is I have removed the injectors because the car would not start and when I done The flow test only No 1, 3, 5. are misting any fuel. I was told by a fellow MB owner that It could be the trigger points so I thought I would put it to the forum to see what you think. Cheers Aussie116.

Hi Aussiew116,

Sounds like the trigger points to me.  One side has gone open circuit.    I am about to do mine and I can tell you that Bosch Australia had three in stock when I purchased them.  Let me know if you need the part number.

Thanks Carl for your input, I agree that this is the problem I will try to do some testing on the points and see what I can find. What was the price for the trigger points if you dont mind me asking.
I also found a leaking injector so I will looking for one of those as well. Cheers Kel. Aussie116.

REad this post and now have my question: my '78 280SE (K-jettronic???) starts fine when cold, but when warm, it cranks a few seconds, then when it finally fires, it's like two or three cylinders are firing and the others aren't. The thing shakes like a flooded carb-engine car for two to five second, then smooths out and runs great. One friend told me it was probably a faulty check valve on the fuel pump. Any advice for this amateur?

Hi Kel, here are some part numbers that should keep you busy.  I am sorry but the invoice is not to hand for the trigger points, I bought them about 6 months back and from memory they were about $160. 

As I understand it the Mercedes-Benz distributor part number for your car is 001
158 66 01, which is Bosch # 0 231 306 002. Breakdown of parts is as follows:

Condensor       1 237 330 235   No longer available, no alternative number
listed. M-Benz part number is 001 156 21 01
Trigger Points  1 230 090 015

Thanks again Carl for these part Nos they will be very handy.
I have sourced another w116 with the same motor and injection system that is a goer but body is a bit of a mess, So should be able to exchange a few parts and hopefully have mine fired up.
