Well they finally arrived..... in pieces, but no worries! :) Not looking forward to reinstalling the rubber.

Nutz

Rear bumper removal

13mm bolt to be removed on both sides, from inside of trunk. Located behind side covers.

Nutz

Remove 8 13mm bolts around the impact shocks. I found that a gear wrench worked best. Make sure to hold the bumper up when removing last 2 bolts, leaving one one each shock.

Nutz

Removed and all that is left is to remove the black plastic filler using an 8mm. Front bumper is removed in the same fashion, but the 10mm bolt is on the inside of the wheel well.

Nutz

Got the rear bumper assembled. Rubber was cooperative going back on, although I had to earn it ;)

Front filler and bolt sizes.

Nutz

Rear bumper mounting area may need a hole punched in it. Not crazy about this but I gotta do what I gotta do.

Darkness put an end to this for today although I may assemble the front bumpers in the garage tonight :dunno:

Congrats on getting the Euro bumpers Nutz - I think they make a huge difference to the appearance of the car.

Thanks Matt, it only took me a year to find a set :) lol
Although they are in good condition overall, I don't think they are worth near what I spent for them.

Nutz

Had some setbacks due to lack of hardware and going to finish installing these by the end of this weekend.

Hi,

What did you do with your old US spec rear bumper? If you still have it, would you be interested in selling it? I may be interested if its in good condition.

Nutz

I gave them away to another local W116 enthusiast.

Nutz

Well, rain ruined any progress. Need to move my motorcycle project out of the garage.
