I have taken care of the bumper reinforcement -  It will never rust again.

Its cadmium plated, and now (excluding the U brackets nuts bolts and washers) practically dipped in body sealer and deadener. Before i screw the chrome parts onto it, ill additionaly fill its cavity with "cavity wax" aswell as the outer mounting surface that the bumper bolts onto.

The cadmium plating was done to subsea oil exploration standards. If this reinforcement ever rusts - I will eat my hat!

I have a set of excellent condition rubbers, plus, i have in addition, spent over an hour on each piece cleaning and rejuvenating the rubber. Yes, that's 3 hours - should of just bought new ones, but it kept me out of trouble.  Shocked

The next adventure will be the front bumper, I'm going to once again need a good second hand bumper to re-chrome, as i peeled the rubber off only to find it completely gutted with rust. Life is full of excitement around the corner   Roll Eyes

116.ORG would make a great personalised number plate Cool  Hint to mforcer or have you still got your original with "NSW - The Premier State" on the 450?  It would be a hard decision to ditch the original.

That bumper looks spectacular Pat!

tail lights were a once in a life time score from germany, brand new for 30 euros - for the pair! there were 5 sets selling and most ended up going to the tip, i should of grabbed the lot. This was before i was a member of this forum though.

dicast parts are all original, but rechromed, new lenses. new cable harness
badges are all new,
bumpers, all rechromed, nuts and bolts all new, cadmium plated bracketry.
all stainless steel exhaust is new
$60 solid stainless steel tow ball is new - it will never get rusty scratches.
towbar is care of the awesome oscar - stripped to bare metal and painted, installed with zinc plated nuts and bolts.

The only shitty part is the push button lock, but thats to be replaced with the complete set of locks when im ready. the set is still available new.
